Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas // Review

Hello people of the earth and internet!

Today's review is on Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas!

finally chris pratt guardians of the galaxy

I am SO FREAKING HAPPY I managed to read this. This book was freaking fantastic, it took me about a week to read. I loved every single word of it. Nowadays there are millions of awesome badass females in almost every YA book but Celaena really is unique. She is just so awesome and I love her so so so so much. I love how she thinks, it was just so fun to read! I'm so happy her character exists.

A great thing about this book was that there was POV from many characters, but not so many you get confused. There was sometimes a focus chapter on one character or another which is quite interesting to read. It's so amazing what Celaena Sardothien can do while being so young.

I also love Chaol. I mean he's not written out to be Celaena's love interest until the last few chapters but god I ship them.

Also, this book is NOT THE HUNGER GAMES, no matter what the blurb says. Yes, if you like The Hunger Games you might enjoy this but it's not a copy of it. I mean assassins fighting to win place as the king's champion has a more or less Hunger Games vibe, but it's actually more of an original idea than it seems.

Now let us talk about Dorian. He is kind of  annoying but has an interesting character and is definitely vital to move the story on, he also brings a tiny bit of a lighter tint to the story. Can I just say how happy I get when Celaena tells him to go away. I find that the Assassin and the Crown Prince are so funny together but I will never ship them.

There is a kind of love triangle in this book but I love how it doesn't take up the story and plays gradually at a slower pace in the background. At the beginning of the book, Chaol is all grumpy and serious but then he definitely warms up and I really enjoyed him.

This book is just so amazing. I love Sarah J. Maas for creating this world. I guess this is high fantasy but I'm not sure. I also love how well played out the mystery aspect to this book is. I completely did NOT expect the ending. I obviously guessed quite a bit of it, but not most of it.

I loved this book and I hope you enjoyed my review on it! I recommend this book to anyone who needs something new to read. Have your read this book? Are you on Team Dorian Or Team Chaol? I'm team Chaol!

Bye!!!!!!!!!

Ebooks

The e-reader. One of the most discussed things on the bookish corner of the internet. Is it pure evil or is it our future? I don't know.

For my birthday two years ago, I asked for an ereader. I was so sure this would be the perfect gift for me and then, I was lucky enough to receive one from my parents, and that is how I got my kobo glo. I was so happy! (and then it broke about a year later).

But I'm not talking about my ereader in particular, but more the concept of them in general. You don't get the same satisfying feeling and you can't laze around Harley Quinn style but it is actually pretty convenient when you're in another country where you can't find books of your native language.

(This is Harley Quinn style above, if you were wondering).

Another good thing is that you can hold it in one hand if you need to eat some cookies or something, or if you're bored of the silence and need to turn on Hamilton or Twenty One Pilots on spotify.

Also, sometimes you are lying down in a comfortable position but you can't turn the page from that angle. Then what do you do? You have to sit up... But with an ereader you just touch the page, a small flick of the finger!

One of the things people usually don't like about a digital reading device (see how I restrained my self from saying 'Ereader' again?), is that it's hard to see the page but this is actually better for your eyes and you can see it, just not broad daylight. I love how they are available to you almost anywhere in the world. I also love how you can read as soon as you buy them whereas if you bought a book online you would have to wait for it to be delivered.

(so I literally just noticed this is Cyrus from Gossip Girl in the above picture. Omg)

With this you have more access the books in, I think it's called, the public domain, with means you download FREE ebooks, instantly.

That's my little chatty post, but I think it doesn't matter what you prefer because there is no correct path in life!

I really want to hear what you think about this topic so please please comment below.

Byeeee!!

Weird things I do!

Thank you to Nabila, who tagged me for this!

Let's get started:

1.  I listen to music and pretend I'm in a movie.

2. I suddenly remember random things I did a long time ago!

3. I'll be like: I love this song, and then sing the words wrong.

4. Saying things to a group of people and realizing no one's listening

5. If I'm writing and someone's talking to me, then i'll write what they were saying.

This was possibly my shortest ever post but it's so hot right now and I really wanted to do this today.

Twenty One Pilots Book Tag

Hey guys, it's Edie and today I'm going to be doing the Twenty One Pilots book tag! I don't know why I did this exactly, but I love Twenty One Pilots so ya know!

Wish we could turn back time,
to the good old days,
When our momma sang,
us to sleep but now we're stressed out...

Stressed out!

Question 1 is Stressed Out, What is one book that you have been wanting to read for a long time that everyone has been talking about?

And for this, I am going to choose A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas. This series has been around the internet for a couple of years now and I need to read it. I just want to read it. I mean, the cover is also kinda cool! Everyone's been raving about this for quite a while now!

I  ponder of something great
My lungs will fill and then deflate
They fill with fire, exhale desire
I know it's dire my time today
I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence

Car Radio!

The second question is Car Radio. Name a book that contained issues you felt you connected to on a personal level.

For this one, I am going to be choosing Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I have loved this book for ages, before I even loved Shadowhunters (and that's saying something). I've always connected to Cath in so many levels.

I just wanna stay in the sun where I find
I know it's hard sometimes
Pieces of peace in the sun's peace of mind
I know it's hard sometimes
Yeah, I think about the end just way too much
But it's fun to fantasize
All my enemies who wouldn't wish who I was
But it's fun to fantasize
Oh, oh
I'm falling so I'm taking my time on my ride
Oh, I'm falling so I'm taking my time on my ride
Taking my time on my ride

Ride!

Name a book you never wanted to end.

I'm going to be choosing Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. This book was so painful to read and then the ending was just... This book ties with City of Heavenly Fire for making me cry.

I'm taking over my body
Back in control, no more shotty
I bet a lot of me was lost
"T"'s uncrossed and "I"'s undotted
I fought it a lot and it seems a lot
Like flesh is all I got
Not any more, flesh out the door ?

Holding Onto You!

Question four, Holding Onto You. What is a book you've loved since childhood?

This one, I'm going to be going with the Casson Family series by Hilary Mckay because I have love that series for so long. It's just a really great series!

Sometimes you gotta bleed to know
That you’re alive and have a soul
But it takes someone to come around
To show you how
She’s the tear in my heart
I’m alive
She’s the tear in my heart
I’m on fire
She’s the tear in my heart
Take me higher
Than I’ve ever been

Tear In My Heart

Question 5, Tear In My Heart, name a book that gave you all the emotions.

And for this one, I am choosing City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare because this definitely gave me all the emotions. "I'm not your bitch" Alec, and the Simon thing made me cry. This book was so freaking sad.

wake up fine and dandy but then by the time I find it handy,
To rip my heart apart and start planning my crash landing,
I go up, up, up, up, up to the ceiling,
Then I feel my soul start leaving, like an old man's hair receding,
I'm pleading please, oh please on my knees repeatedly asking,
Why it's got to be like this. Is this living free?
I don't want to be the one, be the one who has the sun's blood on my hands,
I'll tell the moon, take this weapon forged in darkness,
Some see a pen, I see a harpoon.

Ode to Sleep!

What is a book full of twists and turns that kept you off of your seat?

For me, it was Allegiant by Veronica Roth. If you know the allegiant thing, then you know what I mean. I mean, what author ***** *** * **** *********?

I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath
I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath
I wanna be known by you
I wanna be known by you

Goner!

Goner, what is a book character you fell in love with from the very beginning?

George from George by Alex Gino!

So that was the Twenty One Pilots tag! If you enjoyed this post please comment down below.

YA Book Summer Lookbook

Hey friends! It's Edie!

It's summer, at least in the northern hemisphere! This is kinda a summer bookish themed lookbook so you will mostlikely suffer from my terrible modeling skills, if only I was moonbaby! I've decided to use the same stripy top and pair it with other things to get 2 of my favourite book/ TV show characters unique styles! This took quite a long time to put together so I hope you enjoy!

Clary Fairchild:

This is how Clary looks in the books:

I hope you like it!
