Mini Reviews: Fangirl, George, + PLL

Hi! Today i'm going to be doing some mini reviews. I've never done this before, but it seemed like a fun way to review books I haven't yet prepared reviews for.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

One of the best things about this book, for me anyway, is it's contemporary and that's all I read. That and urban fantasy. The characters are so amazingly fleshed out and detailed. They're all so funny and real. This was really unique and cool. Even though the characters are awesome, the plot lacks so I would suggest this as a lighter read which you could probably read in 2 days and get a few feels out of.

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

I was super nervous when I started this as I watched the TV programme first. This book is about 4 high school juniors Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer who start getting mysterious texts from someone named "A". I think I can most relate to Aria, as her style is similar to mine. I actually love the cover and how it suits the whole story. "A" plays with the girls like dolls and the cover is of Spencer in Barbie doll form! The only thing I  can say without spoiling it is that this is in "A"'s point of view so there will be clues along the way.

"Be who you are"

This book is about George who knows she's really a girl. This book is a nice light and happy read that's really speedy.

Villainous Mistakes

Hi! Today I'm talking about mistakes authors and writers made when fleshing out (or not) their villains. This post is inspired by Kat @(Almost) Completely Mad. You can visit her blog here.

But before I get into this post, I'd like to announce something exciting. 

Thats right! I'm going to Comic Con! I just needed to scream that out there. Now! On to the post...

I'm going to list some scenarios for badly fleshed villains, with the model story I just made up; Sarah's Sock!

What backstory?

What if, when Sarah finally finds her sock and the sock thief is revealed, you get all pumped to see his awesome backstory explaining why he is the way he is! But you turn the page, and all you read is Sarah got her sock back and went back home. Here's how that would play out:

SARAH: So it was you all a long

SOCK THIEF: Yes

SARAH: *Steals sock back* Bye!

SARAH: *Goes home*

THE END

I didn't even know there was one!

What if, Sarah goes down to the shops after realising she'd lost it down the side of her bed or somewhere, only to see the sock thief wearing the socks:

SARAH: Oh well, I have more, I'll find it when I change the sheets.

SOCK THIEF: *Wearing her custom made socks*

SARAH: Wait, I thought I'd lost it but you stole it. Wow.

The Rain On My Window

I love rain. I've never written that down before but I do. I love the sound on my window as it tap tap taps. I love how, in harmony with the click of the hamster wheel my dwarfs run on it feels like home. Who knew one of the least popular part of nature could give someone such joy?

Have you ever questioned whats wrong with it? I don't see what is. It's beautiful, an ostinato of hope, a pulse of comfort. Something that won't change, steady and recurring even on the hottest of days.

Hello everyone! I'm not too sure about what I wrote there but it felt good to be in a zone again like I used to be. I guess I had to say what I loved about it to shade my disappointment. I'm no longer able to go to paris this thursday because of the flooding but also the attacks. Oh and Pray For Orlando!

3. I learnt the guitar for a year, but still suck at singing along to it.

4. I can cook (most of the time).

5. My favourite pudding is anything chocolate related.

7. I have a grumpy cat poster but have never watched Grumpy Cat in my life.
